friday afternoon round up

Giddy up, let’s see…

I went to see a wonderful show on Tuesday night with Angela, Dan, and Emily. Paper Raincoat and Elizabeth & the Catapult at Joe’s Pub – love love love both bands. And as much as I really wanted to stay for more songs from Elizabeth & the Catapult, we left after three because we’re old and it was a work night. Aside from the music, the best part of the evening was the balding man sitting alone at the table in the very front singing along while eating a hamburger and taking photos.

Running has been ok… I’ve just been really busy and really tired so I didn’t run Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday which seems way longer than what it really is. Surprisingly I knocked out 6 miles last night and 4 miles this morning. Planning on 15 tomorrow and Traci and I are braving the Staten Island Half Marathon very very very early on Sunday.

YV did an ASPCA even last night and managed to get in a few gossip and magazine blogs. And now they’ve been Gawkered (love Gawker obvi):
and the text, yay: If you looked at this photo and bet $10,000 that these guys are a rock band, you just won yourself $10,000, which according to XE.com is currently worth 262,344,571.73 Vietnamese dong.

Voila le YV. What these guys do is rock, professionally. They’re a band, and they’re from the UK. Bunch of ssssssssexy sssssssssizllers, n’est pas? I would totally date all four of them if I were a woman, but I’d be very open and communicative and wouldn’t hide anything except for my PIN number because you’re not supposed to share that with anyone, not even your god damn mom.

Also, I love the new Brandi Carlile CD. *LOVE*

this city swells up like a symphony

Ohhhhhhh I’ve been listening to the *new* Paper Raincoat CD all morning. Love it.

It officially comes out October 6th (Joe’s Pub release party, yay) but if you reordered the CD, you got the download link early.

Check them out here.

They’re the closest band to the Weepies that I can find, and that makes me happy. :-)

Early favorite tracks include: Right Angles, Sympathetic Vibrations, It All Depends, and Safe In The Sound.
